There lived a king who suffered from illness because of his mental worries. Even after taking medicines, his illness was not cured. He tried, various medications and none could recover from his illness. One day a wise person visited the palace and came to know that the king is suffering from mental illness. He met the King and checked the physical condition of the King and spoke to him for 10 minutes. After listening to King’s worries, the sage understood that the problem is his pursuit of happiness. He told King that his disease can the be cured by wearing the shirt of the happiest person in his kingdom who is not in the pursuit of happiness.

Upon hearing this, the King was confused as he believed that no one in this world could be happy as there are so many things to worry about people. The wise asked the King to trust him and get the shirt as soon as possible in order to cure his disease. The King ordered his servants to go in all directions of his kingdom to find the happiest person. They could find anyone who seem to be happy. They did find people who are happy, but after the interaction, they found that they had a lot of worries, and they are also in the pursuit of happiness.

Finally they saw one person dancing and singing in bare body. The servants went near to that person and asked him whether he is in the pursuit of happiness. He told that he does not have any worries and he is not in the pursuit of happiness. Upon hearing that, the servants were very happy. They informed that person about the King’s order and requested to give his shirt so that King can be cured. That person laughed for a while and then told that he does not own a shirt. The servants were highly disappointed. They were worried about what the King is going to do if they could not get the shirt.

They returned to the Palace and one of the mentally strong servant went near the King and told whatever happened in the street. Upon hearing that, he was wondering how could a person be happy without pursuit of happiness who does not even own a shirt. This awakened King’s ignorance on his pursuit of happiness. He thought if a person can be happy when he doesn’t even have a shirt, Why can’t he be happy and unnecessarily look for the pursuit of happiness. He, though “I have a lot of wealth and all the luxury I needs, why shouldn’t I be happy “. This wisdom changed King’s mindset about happiness.
