Primary Cause of Unhappiness

All the primary cause of unhappiness listed below are not the situation but the thoughts we build around the situation.

1. Low Self-Esteem / Inferiority Complex

One of the best and famous Chinese thinker, Confucius was probably the ugliest boy in total China. He had large ears like an elephant and a very sharp nose with misaligned tooth, but he was incredibly intelligent even at a younger age. As he grew more matured, he worked towards boosting the moral values and quality of life of people in China. He then went on to become the wisest person in the world. If Confucius would have thought about his disfigure, he would not have achieved this feat and inspired many of us. Now, in spite his figure, he is known to the whole word, and he has high regard even after he passed away.

If Confucius has undervalued himself, he would’ve felt bad about of his visual appearance and stopped improving his abilities. What on earth is the purpose of highlighting the lacking features rather than recognizing one’s abilities and capabilities? However, if we could spotlight our skills, we would come out as a winner like Confucius. Many of us have other skills, for instance, intelligence, an excellent voice, adaptable bones to dance, expertise in writing, excellent in talking, etc . Why hassle about issues we do not have? Instead, Why don’t you focus and build the characteristics that we have. Source: Book – Secrets of Happiness by Tanushree Podder.
